Must have computer skills. Position may involve answering phones, dealing with parents, meeting student, staff, and parents needs in the office,
supervising the Reflection Room, recess and/or lunch supervision, morning duty, afternoon dismissal duty, data entry in Infinite Campus, and
working with teachers to support student needs.
Work with elementary age students
Will walk the hallways during and between classes. CAFETERIA duty and Reflection Room coverage
Reflection Room will be the primary home base for this position. Individual named in this role will serve as a First Responder for major and minor
behaviors; go through all components of Boystown Corrective Teaching, de-escalation strategies, corrective strategies, and crisis management.
Will be responsible for answering phones and making phone calls to parents and guardians. Must do so in a CUSTOMER FRIENDLY manner.
Ability to de-escalate issues and student to student situations and must be physically capable of intervening with students in terms of CPI holds
and restraints (training will be provided).
Ability to function as a positive role model for students in a PreK through 5th grade building (e.g. fair, firm, consistent, sense of humor, rational,
calm)
Serve as assistant to teacher in general education classroom as needed.
Ability to assist students with their academic assignments in basic subjects
Ability to take initiative and follow through with direction by Life Skills Student Services Coach, SAM and Principal
Must be able to interact appropriately with all students as a diverse range of assistance is required
Ability to build healthy and positive relationships with students and staff members.
Must be a team player to assist in all aspects needed within the classroom, cafeteria, hallway, as examples
Must have good "people" skills to work with students, others in the classroom and the building
Assignments will be changed on a daily basis to meet the needs of the program and students.
Must be able to implement changes to those plans when directed and follow through for each student.
Ability to remain calm and respectful when students are in crisis
Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely, as guided by the teacher.
Attend professional in-service activities and training workshops provided by the District (Well-Managed Schools/Boystown Training, Referral
Training, CPI Training, and other trainings as needed).
Position may require extended standing or sitting.
Must have excellent attendance.
Must maintain confidentiality
Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure
each child reaches his/her full potential.
Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
Must be willing to support and implement Davenport’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.

Ability to work extremely well with Life Skills Student Services Coach and SAM, take direction from secretary and be able to collaborate with
Fillmore employees.
