Priority is given to instructors who can teach multiple subjects.
Application Requirements
To apply, please include the following:
Resume or CV detailing your degrees, certifications, licenses, and teaching experience.
Transcripts for undergraduate and graduate coursework. Indicate if courses are quarter or semester credits.
Three professional references with contact information and a brief note on your relationship (e.g., supervisor, colleague).
Desired Instructor Traits
Student-centered approach to teaching.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and engage authentically in discussion forums.
Availability for same-day response to most communications (next-morning for late-day queries).
Enthusiasm for subject matter and student learning.
Understanding of the learning process and adult learners' unique needs.
Essential Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in the field, or a graduate degree with 18 semester credits in the subject area.
Two years or more of work experience in the subject area.
At least one year of experience teaching online classes.
Proficiency with online learning management systems (preferably Moodle).
Experience in curriculum creation or instructional design.
Strong desire to help students succeed and experience in supporting struggling students.
Excellent written communication skills with a positive, encouraging tone.
Quick learner of new technologies.
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
Comfortable with technology.
Preferred Qualifications
Training in education methodologies, instructional design, curriculum creation, and assessment.
Ability to teach multiple general education subjects.
Key Responsibilities
Teach one or more asynchronous courses.
Maintain accurate attendance and grades.
Identify and support at-risk students.
Ensure course and program learning outcomes are met.
Provide documentation of ongoing professional growth.
Assist in program evaluation and planning.
Engage and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning.
Respond to student questions and concerns promptly.
Participate in ongoing professional development.
Maintain required credentials.
