The General Education Assistant Program Director is responsible for promoting a culture of educational effectiveness and excellence of student learning outcomes in general education. The Assistant Program Director will report directly to the General Education Program Director and is accountable for assisting with all aspects of administration and management of the program including curriculum and assessment, student progression and retention, faculty oversight, program effectiveness and student satisfaction. A successful candidate will meet the required qualifications and present a teaching and professional philosophy that is aligned with the university's core values of delivering an accessible, diversified, innovative, and high-quality education.
Essential Functions:
Advances the university's and general education program's mission and objectives through systematic evaluation of student learning and advancement of student outcomes
Serves as a liaison between GE students and GE faculty/administration to ensure Stanbridge standards are being met by both students and faculty
Assists with general education faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation according to institutional and accreditation guidelines
Coordinates retention efforts with Student Services for all GE courses
Serves as general education faculty in the program's science courses
Completes additional duties to assist the GE Program Director
Qualifications:
A terminal degree in a science discipline represented in the university's general education program from an accredited college or university
Ability to teach in multiple disciplines: Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology strongly desired
Must have a minimum of 15 semester hours in each subject area
A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a full-time faculty teaching in a general education program
A minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching in an online teaching and learning environment
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
Action oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within a deadline-oriented environment
$85,000-$100,000 per year. All salaries based on education and experience

Proficient in operating electronic keyboards and other office machines
Effective verbal communication skills in answering telephones and providing information with clarity and distinctness
Ability to read fine print and operate computers with precision
Ability to understand voices over the telephone and in person
Able to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing between 10-25 pounds as needed
