Fund Controller

The candidate should have strong accounting and finance background, knowledge of tax structures and tax reporting requirements, comprehensive understanding of GAAP accounting, fund accounting, fund analysis, cash management, and excellent attention to detail.

This management role is responsible for managing the Company’s series of real estate investment funds, including books and records, tax analysis and reporting, and cash management. The candidate will serve as the main point of contact with external tax, audit and will liaise with fund administrators. Compensation will be competitive and will include a discretionary bonus based on performance.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting operations, including financial statement preparation and investor reporting
• Collaborate with external fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Manage the company's cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investments
• Develop and implement cash management strategies to optimize the company's financial position
• Lead and manage tax planning and compliance efforts
• Prepare and file accurate quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Liaise with 3rd party tax advisors to develop and implement effective tax strategies
• Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation that may affect the firm and its operations, and advise on necessary actions
• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audit processes
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic plans
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making at the executive level

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund accounting
