Fund Accountant

Our client, a growing mid-size private equity firm in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a talented and motivated Fund Accountant to join their team. The Fund Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial reporting duties related to the firm's investment funds.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes, and other supporting schedules for various investment funds
• Perform general ledger maintenance and reconciliations
• Prepare capital calls, distributions, and investor statements
• Work with the investment team to ensure accurate and timely valuation of investments
• Assist with tax compliance and reporting
• Assist with audit and regulatory filings
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience in the financial services industry, with exposure to private equity or alternative investments preferred
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software
• CPA or progress towards CPA preferred
