Client is in need of a Functional Workday Financials Implementation Consultant to bridge the gap between their internal Finance Team and their SI handling the technical side of their upcoming Workday Financials implementation. The client is in the Restaurant industry, migrating from an antiquated industry-specific ERP system, Compeat. This system currently includes – expenses, asset management, banking, gift cards, loyalty program, kiosks, HR/payroll, inventory management, etc. As such, their business processes are similarly antiquated and they are looking for guidance to simultaneously modernize those business processes to align with their new Workday system. For example: in the current state, their AP approval requires wet signatures on paper forms – they’d like to see this automated to a workflow. A strong functional financial background including financial business processes, compliance (SOX & Audit), and mapping will be key here. The consultant must have direct Workday Financials implementation experience as well. This role will also include documentation, reporting, data validation, etc. The Implementation Partner is handling the more technical responsibilities, such as integrations, and that experience will not be a requirement for this position.

Day To Day Responsibilities

  • Bridging the gap between internal Finance Team and Implementation Partner’s technical team
  • Assisting the client in business process modernization, documentation, mapping, data validation, and reporting to support the Workday Financial Implementation
  • Recommend best practices based on previous Workday Financial implementation experience
  • Ensure needs of the business are met, including Financial SOX and Audit compliance
  • Serve as an advocate for the client in interactions with the implementation partner
  • Serve as a Workday Financial SME for the client’s internal finance team
  • Assist in the change management as the client transitions from an antiquated ERP system to Workday Financials
