This is a Paralegal position which will require acting as a supporting role to attorneys, management and other office staff.
The position will consist of legal and administrative duties which include but are not limited to, filing documents with the courts, preparing discovery, being familiar with local court rules and deadlines, calendaring upcoming case dates, scheduling appointments, filing and organizing client files, and interacting with clients on a daily basis. This role requires a positive, proactive, enthusiastic, and customer focused attitude.
Job Functions Include:
Schedule client meetings both in person and telephonically
Assist with managing the office filing system both hard copies and electronically with attention to detail and confidentiality
Assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents and correspondence
Assist attorneys to ensure legal documents are processed in a timely manner
Assist with maintaining office calendar, updating it with key events
Schedule remote appearances for court hearings via LACourtConnect and CourtCall
Prepare and maintain documents and files for attorneys prior to court hearings, depositions, and mediations, etc.
Assist with ensuring that the office is always in a presentable manner for clients, depositions, mediations, etc.
Assist with writing correspondence letters and mailings
Assist with various projects as directed by management
Assist with any given task to facilitate the team
Skills & Requirements Include:
3+ years working in a Law Office as a Paralegal and/or Legal Assistant
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat required
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Advanced administrative and organizational skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to work in a professional environment and maintain a professional demeanor in all situations, including the ability to remain calm and efficient during stressful situations
Maintain confidential information in strict confidence
Listening, responding and speaking clearly, concisely and accurately to all requests for assistance
Desire to work as a team player
Aspiration to learn and grow
Litigation experience preferred
High School Education required; advanced degree preferred
Salary and Hours:
This position is a full-time position and salary is commensurate with experience
