Full Stack Web Developer

As a Full Stack Web Developer at Drive Social Media, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining cutting-edge web applications. You will collaborate closely with our talented UI/UX designers to transform their mockups, style guides, and prototypes into fully functional, custom-built web applications using best practices. Although this role is not primarily customer-facing, you will be involved in kickoff meetings and developmental approval meetings. In the kickoff meetings, your responsibility will be to grasp the client's needs and expectations, suggesting improved methods to accomplish these goals within the project's scope.

Responsibilities…

  • Attend client meetings (website kickoff, review, and approval meetings).
  • Collaborate with UI/UX Designers to turn designs into functional web applications.
  • Develop websites using themes and custom HTML & CSS.
  • Provide feedback to UX Designers to ensure designs follow best practices.
  • Occasionally communicate with clients to facilitate project completion.
  • Maintain websites by:
  • Monitoring progress and generating maintenance reports with improvement recommendations.
  • Identifying and addressing areas of site weakness or poor performance to boost rankings.
  • Taking ownership of backend and frontend development needs to meet Site Audit and Google PageSpeed Insights goals.
  • Migrating existing WordPress sites to our hosting infrastructure, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Assist with other web-related projects, such as launching new web projects and communicating ongoing project needs to stakeholders.

Requirements…

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, computer science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in WordPress development.
  • Knowledge of front-end and back-end web development, understanding the limitations and capabilities of both.
  • Proficiency in HTML, PHP, CSS, and WordPress.
  • Familiarity with SCSS and a strong understanding of JavaScript.
  • Basic DevOps skills: website migration, deployment, DNS.
  • Basic skills in Adobe Suite: Photoshop and XD.
  • Basic understanding of developing a Figma file.
  • Experience converting mockups into fully functional custom WordPress themes.
  • Good debugging skills for troubleshooting and modifying existing sites.
  • Familiarity with local/staging/production environments and version control (GIT and BitBucket).
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap 4.x, CloudFlare, Linux, and command line.
  • Basic Linux commands, SSH, GIT, WP-CLI.
  • Experience developing custom WordPress themes with best practices and optimizing for speed.
  • Experience optimizing builds for Google PageSpeed and Pingdom.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and general SEO best practices in web development.
  • Proficiency with site auditing tools (Ahrefs Site Audit, Google PageSpeed Insights, Google Search Console) and executing solutions based on their suggestions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple diverse projects.
  • Ability to react promptly and efficiently to product adjustments and expectations.
  • Eager to make dreams happen.
