Description
The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree, or equivalent work experience and 5+ years of hands on accounting experience as a full charge accountant or bookkeeper. The candidate should be driven, motivated and well organized.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- 5+ years of working with various accounting systems, such as QuickBooks and Business Central.
- Excellent MS Excel skills.
- Experience with Government contracting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to communicated schedules and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
- Work with outside accounting firm to prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audit processes.
- Update timesheet system with adding project codes as needed.
- Generate required financial reports for customers and various 3rd party financial organizations.
- Perform Contract, Task Order, Purchase Order, Audits.
