The opportunity has arisen for an experienced broker to join their globally leading Fuel Oil Desk to lend support to the already established US market business, taking ownership of client requirements on US market hours. With a successful team based in Europe who have been leading the way across the Fuel Oil markets for many years they are seeking an experienced derivative broker from the Fuel Oil or related markets to manage the US business accounts to maintain relations and customer offerings to their global business unit.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the team in Europe to manage customer flow into the US markets across the Fuel Oil Sector (3.5, .5, Diesel etc)
• Provide Voice/Electronic execution services, facilitating physical and derivative (Futures, Swaps, Options) Trades within the Fuel Oil market.
• Keep up to date and provide accurate market analysis, reports, pricing spreads, research and industry news across the Fuel Oil and wider Energy markets to the desk and counterparties. Ability to cross reference analysis from research houses and platforms such as Reuters, Bloomberg etc.
• Key understanding of market flows, hedging, risk management, and Energy derivative products (Futures, Options, Swaps) within Fuel Oil markets and related products (Marine Fuel, LSFO, Kerosene, Gasoline, Bunkers, Heating Oil etc.)
• Identify opportunities for the desk to up-sell and cross-sell within the wider business, maintaining communication with other internal departments and desks. (Clearing, 24hr Execution, Research & Advisory)
• Arrange financial trades via voice broking/brokering on relevant exchanges (ICE, CME, SGX)
• Act as a point of contact for clients across the US & South American markets on the execution desk, handling client follow ups, enquiries, confirmations, on-boarding assistance and ad-hoc assistance to the European desk and clients when required.
• Manage the companies vast portfolio of clients in the US geographies (suppliers, trading houses, refiners, majors, energy retailers, shipping companies etc)

Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in a broking/brokering within a reputable IDB/FCM within the Fuel Oil/Bunkers or Oil Products markets
• Ideally exposure to the Fuel Oil or Refined products sector (Other energy asset classes could be considered) across the derivatives space.
• Ability to manage and execute trade orders for a large customer portfolio in the US Market. (Suppliers, Banks, Funds, Trade houses, Refiners, Majors, Energy Retailers, Shipping Companies etc)
• Strong passion for commodity markets with relative understanding of the Energy sector.
• Ability to work in a faced paced, high-pressure environment whilst managing multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Understanding of the Energy derivatives markets (Futures, Swaps, Options)
• US Citizenship or existing work permit required
