HeartPlace - US Heart and Vascular has an excellent full time employment opportunity, with benefits, for an experienced Front Office employee at its Plano West HeartPlace clinic located in Plano, TX. Prior recent working experience in a clinical front office capacity is required. Experience in cardiology is preferred.

General Summary

Responsible for front office clinic duties, up to and including, check in, check out, phone reception, scheduling and any other general office duties required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains full-time presence at the front desk.
  • Registers all new patients at time of check-in and enters data in computer system.
  • Insures all established patients have updated and accurate demographic information.
  • Updates and maintains computer system with all patient information changes.
  • Requests co-pays, patient balances and coinsurance from patients at time of arrival.
  • Provide support for all in-coming calls to the clinic.
  • Communicates the arrival of patients to the clinical area.
  • Successfully completes the pre-certification process prior to the patient arrival.
  • Prepares charts/paperwork for next day’s patients.
  • Supports the check out process of the clinic. Calculates and totals charge amount; collects co-

pays and deductibles, informs patient of the charge for services.

  • Supports the scheduling process of the clinic.
  • Clinic staff who have physician panels that support multiple locations may be required to

travel as needed to serve the patients at those locations.

  • Provides excellent customer service and the highest quality patient care.
  • Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
  • Completes education requirements timely as set by the Company.
  • At all times protects the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) of patients per

HIPAA regulations; including does not review his/her own record, or records of employees or

co-workers without a “need to know”.

  • Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.
  • Adheres to company safety standards at all times, such that no serious (requiring medical

attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.

  • Attends work in accordance with the attendance management policy.
  • Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during

the evaluation period.

  • Performs all other duties as required.
  • Completes pre-authorizations for patients as needed.
  • May be required to move between locations as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • High school diploma or accredited GED. For prior hired, after a review and approval,

Grandfathering Through Company Experience.

  • Minimum 3 months experience in a front office clinical role, 1 year experience preferred.
  • To Float, must have 6 months of experience working in a front office clinical role.
  • Experience working in a Cardiology physician office strongly preferred.
  • Fluently speaks, reads, and writes English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements in a clinical setting
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is able to be present at work during the scheduled hours and days of the job, in accordance with

the Company’s Attendance policy.

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: standing,

bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting supplies or equipment, walking for extended

periods of time, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 50 pounds.

  • Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
