Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and customer service-oriented individual to join our team as a Front Desk Agent at our Arlo Chicago location. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and play a crucial role in providing exceptional service and creating a positive first impression of our hotel. This is a full-time, hourly position in Chicago, Illinois's hospitality/restaurant industry.

Compensation & Benefits

As a valued member of our team, you will receive a competitive compensation of $22 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition, you will have access to benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner, ensuring a positive first impression of our hotel
  • Check-in and check-out guests efficiently and accurately, adhering to all hotel procedures
  • Handle all guest requests and inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Assist with reservations and ensure accurate billing and payment processing
  • Maintain an organized and clean front desk area at all times
  • Assist with maintaining and updating guest records and room availability
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
  • Ensure all guests are informed about hotel amenities, services, and promotions
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to provide exceptional service to guests
  • Attend all meetings and training sessions as required
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
  • Knowledge of hotel software and systems such as Opera or Fidelio is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must have knowledge of local attractions and restaurants
  • Fluent in English, bilingualism is an asset
  • Previous Hotel Experience Required*
