Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Executive to join our team. This is a remote position with a focus on driving new business and expanding our customer base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in freight brokerage, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Required Experience:
3+ years of experience in a freight brokerage environment
Current margins of $25k+
Proven track record of building a book of business
Ability to quickly ramp up
Preferred Experience:
Portable book of business (FTL, OTR, Drayage) - No LTL
Duties:
Aggressively seek new accounts through actions such as cold calling by phone or in person, searching the Internet, industry contacts, or attending transportation functions
Hunt and prospect for new customers in areas deemed favorable
Maintain regular “follow-up” contact with potential accounts
Close and maintain new accounts with the help of an entire operations team
Keep up to date on market conditions and competition and inform your customers
Quote business to meet profitability goals selling service over price
