Globetrotter is currently seeking a unique and dynamic individual to join its team as a freight broker . We are expanding our freight brokerage operation and are seeking motivated transportation brokers with a desire to work in this fast-paced, rewarding environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with industry experience to join the Globetrotter team. The ideal candidate is someone with a background in transportation brokerage, who is looking to expand their existing customer portfolio and grow with our company ! As a freight broker, you will be responsible for developing relationships with customers and arranging freight transportation to meet their needs.
Qualities:
Must have STRONG outbound phone call salesmanship skills.
Negotiating and closing deals, and managing expectations of clients and customers.
Present a professional image of conduct and attitude
Proficient in both verbal and written communications
Exemplify a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal skills and abilities.
Prove a willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during periods of opportunity to develop and secure income generating purchase and sales relationships.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a freight transportation broker
Strong communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
Good knowledge of the transportation industry
Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
Responsibilities:
Build logistics infrastructure by qualifying and starting new relationships with transportation companies to haul various products across the country
Manage, maintain and build good relations with trucking carriers
Provide consistent, ongoing and as needed after hours support for all logistical related scenarios
Plan and negotiate freight rates with trucking companies to increase company profits
Ability to negotiate with carriers on rates, capacity commitments, and service performance
Tender shipments to carriers and continuously monitor shipment progress
Daily calls to carriers daily to secure equipment
Collaborating with our asset-based fleet operations managers
Develop and interact with customers to provide tailored transportation services
Calling customers daily update shipment status and to foster close relationships
Offering services to new and existing customers
Proactively identify and resolve issues using critical thinking skills
Provide best in class customer service to carriers and shippers
Actively participate in company goals and meet or exceed company metrics
