About The Role
As a Freight Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our freight department. Your responsibilities will include meticulously analyzing freight invoices, managing accounts payable for freight services, and conducting thorough audits to maintain financial control and optimize our freight spend. Your keen analytical skills and dedication to accuracy will be vital in this role.
What You'll Do
Utilize your expertise to extract and analyze data effectively.
Review and scrutinize freight invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual agreements.
Identify and rectify discrepancies in freight charges, including negotiating rate adjustments with vendors.
Efficiently process and oversee accounts payable for freight services, ensuring timely and precise payments.
Perform routine audits of freight invoices and carrier settlements to pinpoint potential errors or areas for cost savings.
Analyze freight spend data to uncover trends and opportunities for cost optimization.
Collaborate closely with the freight procurement team to ensure alignment with negotiated rates and service agreements.
Manage claims from start to finish, including filing, tracing, and collecting payments.
Cultivate strong relationships with freight carriers and vendors.
Generate detailed reports on freight costs and performance metrics.
Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a freight-related role, emphasizing accounts payable or auditing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with freight accounting software is advantageous.
Sound understanding of freight transportation terminology and processes.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 USD annually (Remote).
