Position Summary: As a Freelance Video Producer, you’ll play a crucial role in creating compelling video content for the award-winning AccuWeather Television Network, digital platforms, and social channels. Collaborating with on-air broadcasters, directors, graphic artists, and studio technicians, you’ll bring weather and news stories to life. Whether working remotely or on-site at our State College headquarters, you’ll contribute to our mission of keeping people informed and safe.
Responsibilities
Visual Storytelling: Monitor and curate captivating weather and climate visuals for the AccuWeather Network, website, and social media.
Content Creation: Write, produce, and edit original video content using strong editorial judgment, visual effects, and technical expertise.
Standards and Practices: Adhere to company standards and practices while maintaining creativity and innovation.
Technical Proficiency: Understand video delivery systems (FTP, CMS, etc.) and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
News Production: Create daily weather news segments, engaging show opens, and stylized network promos.
Media Management: Responsible for organizing and archiving raw video assets.
Collaboration: Work closely with videographers, producers, and other team members to achieve high-quality results.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or graduate degree in production, broadcasting, or related field.
Software Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, Audition, and After Effects.
Experience: 2-5 years of demonstrated editing experience in a dynamic, live news production environment (television station or broadcast network).
Team Player: Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with standard field cameras and related broadcast equipment.
Availability: Willingness to work overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Creativity: Approach storytelling with flair and attention to detail.
Editorial Awareness: Strong news judgment and understanding of weather and climate stories.
Digital Skills: Ability to create captivating imagery, headlines, and thumbnails for digital platforms.
