We are looking for a Freelance Technical Writer with a strong science background who specializes in documenting the processes and procedures of companies in pharma, biotech, government, oil & energy, chemicals, etc.
Your key responsibilities
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, stakeholders and with various teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the process and the documentation requirements
Gap analysis: determining where documents need to be created, edited, consolidated or retired
Documentation audit and Documentation Architecture set-up
-inventory of the existing content, and
-setting up new structure for the documents
Creating and Editing Documents: ensure that all documents comply with internal and external requirements
Coordinate reviews/approvals from client and manage resulting changes
Skills and attributes for success
Ability to analyze, organize, structure and prioritize complex technical information from multiple sources and make them easily understandable
Ability to learn quickly and adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
Must be able to work independently and with minimal direct supervision
Focused on how to best convey information clearly and concisely
Outstanding communication skills
Strong attention to detail with ability to proofread and edit well
Experience with coordinating and following tasks, and projects through completion
To qualify for the role, you must have
Education:
Advanced degree in Technical Communications, Technical and Scientific Writing
Experience:
Five or more years of relevant experience producing technical documentation, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry (GMP)
Good time management, organizational, and decision-making skills
Ideally, you’ll also have
Information Mapping Certification and experience
Project Management skills
Process Improvement experience
