MX is looking for an eagle-eyed Freelance Content Editor to serve as our company's line of defense against typos, errors and inconsistencies. In this role, you'll proofread and copy edit nearly every piece of content our company produces, ensuring adherence to the rules of AP style as well as client-specific brand standards. You'll take all content through our established quality control processes to ensure a polished final product every time. You'll be part of our dedicated proofreading team, working with members of various teams to address content errors and improve the quality of our work.
This position is part-time, remote (with CST working hours) and contract based. Weekly hours may vary between 15 and 30. Our team will partner with you on workload prioritization.
What We're Looking For
At least 1 year of prior editing experience
Experience in a marketing or advertising agency required
Strong grasp of grammar and spelling
Strong understanding of AP style
Experience editing in Microsoft Word and Google Docs; experience commenting with other software (such as Adobe Acrobat for PDF files)
Impeccable attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work among multiple projects
Quick learner, able to learn from past mistakes and take initiative to learn new skills
Proactive, effective communicator
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including when communicating via Gmail, Google Chat and video conferencing tools
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
