Forklift Operator

Job Description

Job Summary: As a forklift operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and maintain accurate inventory records. This position requires attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Forklift: Safely operate a forklift to move materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and shelves as required.
• Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of materials handled, ensuring proper stock rotation.
• Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing safety gear and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with warehouse staff and other personnel to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.
• Quality Control: Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a forklift operator or similar role.
• Valid forklift certification or license (if required by local regulations).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of warehouse procedures and safety standards.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying temperatures.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more).
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions if required.
  
  

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced warehouse environment with exposure to noise and varying temperatures.
• May require working evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
