Summary

Join our team at IDOH Chemistry Laboratories as a junior level chemist specializing in sample preparation and analysis of a variety of substances including opioids, pharmaceuticals, metals, and pesticides. This role requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemical or physical science and at least 2 years of experience as an analytical chemist.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex chemical analyses on various matrices using advanced instruments in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance guidelines and maintain technical proficiency through Proficiency Testing
  • Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Complete necessary paperwork, reports, and SOP updates
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area
  • Participate in training and cross-training activities
  • Assist supervisor with assigned tasks

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating complex laboratory equipment such as LC/MS/MS, GC/MS/MS, and familiarity with Sciex equipment
  • Effective communication skills within and outside the laboratory
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices and chemistry principles
  • Understanding of laboratory safety protocols
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations
  • Ability to design analytical techniques and develop new methods
  • Assist in compiling reports based on collected data
