Join our team at IDOH Chemistry Laboratories as a junior level chemist specializing in sample preparation and analysis of a variety of substances including opioids, pharmaceuticals, metals, and pesticides. This role requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemical or physical science and at least 2 years of experience as an analytical chemist.
Essential Responsibilities
Conduct complex chemical analyses on various matrices using advanced instruments in compliance with regulatory standards
Adhere to Quality Assurance guidelines and maintain technical proficiency through Proficiency Testing
Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments
Complete necessary paperwork, reports, and SOP updates
Maintain a safe and organized work area
Participate in training and cross-training activities
Assist supervisor with assigned tasks
Requirements
Proficiency in operating complex laboratory equipment such as LC/MS/MS, GC/MS/MS, and familiarity with Sciex equipment
Effective communication skills within and outside the laboratory
Knowledge of laboratory practices and chemistry principles
Understanding of laboratory safety protocols
Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations
Ability to design analytical techniques and develop new methods
Assist in compiling reports based on collected data
