Job Type: Full-time

Worksite: On-site

Location: Washington, DC

Duties:

  • Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening snacks according to USDA and DC Department of Health guidelines
  • Ensure meals meet nutritional standards, including specific dietary needs such as Heart Healthy, Therapeutic, and Special diets
  • Maintain food supplies, materials, and equipment required for meal preparation and delivery
  • Develop and submit cycle menus for heart-healthy, Therapeutic, and Special diets on a quarterly basis
  • Ensure menus are approved by a registered dietitian and comply with all nutritional requirements
  • Provide a nutritional analysis of meals and submit any menu changes for approval
  • Store perishable food items at proper temperatures to prevent spoilage and contamination
  • Maintain adequate inventory and implement stock rotation procedures
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain records of dietary orders, menu substitutions, and inventory
  • Develop and implement an emergency plan to ensure continuity of food services during unforeseen circumstances
  • Ensure all staff involved in food preparation, delivery, and handling meet health and safety regulations
  • Provide ongoing training for staff in food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience in food service management, preferably in a similar setting
  • Knowledge of USDA and DC Department of Health guidelines for meal preparation
  • Ability to develop and implement cycle menus and nutritional analyses
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
