As a valuable member of the Ingredient Technology and Applications team, the field applications scientist will play an integral role in supporting the growth of sales through development of applications concepts, expertise in growth industries, and collaborating with customers and sales assets to educate and promote IFPC brands and distributed ingredient. 

 

Responsibilities Include 

  • Understand and represent the IFPC specialty products, including distributed and manufactured items. Support development of content for the sales team and aid with training programs  
  • Act as a key representative of IFPC at trade shows, customer events, training seminars, etc. 
  • Assist with the technical development of new product applications to support our branded products and distribution ingredients based on industry trends and customer unmet needs. 
  • Conduct testing and analysis of current & new products to determine functional/organoleptic properties & performance in finished applications at the direction of lead scientists. 
  • Support document & information requests from Quality/Regulatory department for manufactured/branded items. 
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of detailed project plans.  
  • Support completion of project deliverables in line with the project plan.  
  • Assist with the development of marketing collateral and communications by providing technical content and industry expertise. 
  • Contribute to presentations to target customers with a focus on product attributes, industry trends and consumer data points. 
  • Interact with customers to support development of formulations, projects & custom products. 
  • Develop personal goals for growth. 

 

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications 

  • B.S. or M.S. in Food Technology/Foods Science or related field 
  • 5-10 years industry experience. Baking, beverage and/or processed foods 
  • Thorough understanding and strong technical knowledge of food testing and processes, sensory testing  
  • Strong documentation, organization, and time management skills 
  • Solid understanding of chemistry of food products
