Food Scientist
Elopak in Region Americas is growing at a fast pace. We produce Pure-Pak ® cartons (Gable Top packaging) for liquid dairy, juices, plant-based products, and liquid eggs. We also provide filling/packaging equipment to food manufacturers across America. We are looking for a talented Food Scientist who will have a real impact and influence.
Part of a global team, the Food Scientist is responsible for ensuring and validating the hygienic performance of our filling and packaging equipment. As part of the role, the incumbent will be key to developing new products and improving existing products and processes. The Food Scientist will also be responsible for ensuring food safety and quality of food products. This position requires data management skills, attention to detail, and an excellent understanding of food science principles.
What You Will Do

What You Will Do
- Perform system checks, commissioning, and troubleshooting filling and packaging systems for chilled and aseptic products.
- Provide food science support to both internal and external partners and customers.
- Be highly involved in development projects and work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in production trials at customer’s site.
- Perform investigation, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and provide advice on hygiene, food safety, and quality.
- Be the key contact person for suppliers related to hygiene and laboratory solutions.
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation on chemicals, specifications, and procedures.
- Keep track of relevant regulations applicable to the North America Region.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in food science or related degree combined with 3- 5 years of related work experience.
- Ability to maintain the highest standard of data management, record keeping, etc.
- Knowledge and interest in food processing, microbiology and packaging.
- Knowledge of HACCP and quality controls is an asset.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detailed oriented, critical thinking.
- Fluent in English (both oral and written).
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule and to travel (national and international) up to 50% of the time.
