Position Summary

The Food R&D Technologist is responsible for testing, validating, and documenting new food automation solutions with a focus on product characteristics that influence equipment performance. The self-motivated and results driven professional is responsible for all operations and maintenance of the R&D area.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform R&D tests on food automation equipment including detailed documentation of findings.
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the R&D area.
  • Support Engineering, Product Sales Managers, Product Management and Sales with product configuration and in customer meetings.
  • Perform customer demonstrations on R&D equipment as needed.
  • Limited design engineering with Solid Works for prototyping.
  • Conducts R&D field applications including in-plant test and application-based service calls.
  • Perform basic trouble shooting of R&D equipment.
  • Duties as assigned.

  • Ability to effectively provide technical explanations tailored to varying audiences.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand customer needs, transfer them into technical solutions and communicate value proposition.
  • Excellent technical skills and ability to understand the operation of complex production systems.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment will be essential.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or Food Science
  • Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in a related field.

Other Requirements

  • Current valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Must have the ability to travel within North America and Germany occasionally
