Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) is a SNAP nutrition incentive program that allows SNAP users to receive a $1 for $1 match on eligible SNAP purchases for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables. Currently, the DUFB program has grown to be in 36 counties and over 230+ farmers market, mobile market, grocery, small retail, and farm stand locations. VISTAs will implement more diverse and effective outreach strategies to encourage low-income individuals to take advantage of DUFB. Ensuring adequate understanding of the importance of nutrition incentive programs from the community and local partners will create a more robust program and help bring individuals out of poverty. This program allows for a diversity of professional development opportunities and the chance to connect with unique grassroots organizations across Erie County.
