This position is for a Flight Simulation Test Engineer with extensive aircrew member experience on simulation devices. Familiarity and ability to work with AFSOC, AETC, and ACC commands. This position reports directly to the ACTS Engineering Manager and performs testing, verification and evaluations on Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs).

The Work

As a key member of our Test Engineering team you will:

  • Perform/analyze/schedule device functional checks and automated and manual testing. This includes supporting internal/government aircrew and maintenance training device SIMCERTS and other test events. Candidate must understand the principles of simulator engineering and correlate the impact on aircrew Training Task Lists (TTL).
  • Translate subjective inputs from aircrew members into actionable engineering improvements to increase device utilization.
  • Attend and participate in the requirements, design, implementation, and test & acceptance phases of project life cycles related to trainer modifications.
  • Verify requirements to include evaluation of System Requirements Specification (SRS) artifacts and other development products (design, implementation) against the specification, and to verify that the requirements are well written and testable.
  • Create acceptance test procedures that verify system requirements, and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing events. Candidate must have a good understanding of systems engineering approach to requirements validation processes, and will be responsible for authoring and reviewing test engineering CDRLs.
  • Update and create regression testing procedures to minimize impacts to the device during modifications and device software discrepancy corrections.
  • Coordinates and performs the testing of Design Request and Discrepancies prior to Government Software Load acceptance.
  • Verify that the software load used are under Configuration Management's control at all times. Maintain and track all generated discrepancies.
  • Be the point of contact for the engineering, configuration management and the customer for modification testing, discrepancy resolution and rechecks.
  • Be responsible for the controlled testing by customer with the intent to maintain control and generate/communicate actionable issues.
