Sets up and operates flexographic printing press to print designs or lettering on rolls of flexible plastic film by performing the following duties.
Responsible for running the press at the targeted production rate while maintaining quality.
Responsible for running re-winder and pulling rolls off of the press.
Is not to leave the press during the shift unless relieved for lunch or break or in the event of an emergency.
Responsible for handling of plant equipment and supplies by himself, the schedule Second Press Operators and others on the press.
Responsible to check the print quality against all specifications on every roll. Adjusts color in the press if needed.
Responsible for following all company operating systems and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean work area.
Assists in training press apprentices following all established training procedures.
Work as a team with Second Press Operators within the restrictions and capabilities.
Responsible for achieving targeted set up times and keeping roll changes to a minimum.
Should communicate with Shift Supervisor on any/ all equipment or discipline problems.
Reports to the Shift Supervisor.
Responsible for changeovers on press while following set up procedures.
Monitor entire web through scanner every 5 minutes.
Responsible for first sign in on set-ups.
Responsible for maintaining, labeling and handling of hazardous waste.
All finished orders will be checked against Extrusion paperwork to ensure all film is accounted for, printed and labeled correctly for example ahead of slitter, converting or outside sales.
Communicate with 2nd Press Operators and inspect all items for next set-up, ie. cylinders geared, film and ink behind machine.
Responsible for checking in all paperwork for next set up, example: spec, layout and paper proof.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner so that you get along with clients, customers, vendors, co-workers and supervisors.
