Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician specializing in manufacturing equipment to join our team in Bolingbrook, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and performance of our manufacturing machines through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This position works Monday - Friday 5:30am -2:00pm with required overtime in peak seasons.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on electrical machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical issues with production equipment and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance procedures according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices to extend equipment lifespan and prevent malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify maintenance needs, schedule downtime for repairs, and prioritize tasks to minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and technical documentation to troubleshoot complex issues and restore functionality.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status, to facilitate tracking and reporting, effectively communicating to manager daily.
  • Comply with safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians or production staff on proper equipment maintenance procedures and safety practices.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and industry trends related to equipment maintenance, incorporating new knowledge into daily practices.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO standards to guarantee operational compliance and quality assurance.
  • Manage and uphold optimal levels of spare parts inventory to facilitate uninterrupted workflow and timely maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a maintenance technician
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to understand equipment specifications and diagnose issues effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze root causes of equipment failures and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and external service providers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
  • Requires normal color perception.
  • Ability to focus and perform precision hand movements when operating a machine.
  • Must possess high standards of personal integrity.
  • Ability to handle potentially hazardous materials.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple projects with speed, quality and enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge of PLC, AC/DC, Pneumatic and hydraulics.
  • Pass a drug test and criminal background check prior to employment.
