Job Summary:

The Financial Systems Analyst II (FSAII) will have a good knowledge of system applications, general business process knowledge that is related to the applications and experience with the software implementation life cycle.

The FSAII will be responsible for basic system configurations representing business process requirements, as defined by the business, and guided/coached by a more experienced team member. Along with participating and following the system change management or implementation life cycle components (test scripts, configuration & unit testing, UAT, functional specs, advancing changes through system environments etc.).

The person in this role is responsible to provide strong analytical, troubleshooting and/or problem-solving techniques to resolve financial system and data support issues, based on the alignment of business process requirements, within the financial system platform. Along with performing functional research or data mining from multiple internal and external financial system sources

The FSAII will be responsible for using data analytic tools to for identifying and interpreting trends, patterns in support issues related to financial data/systems and proactively recommend actions and solutions. Responding timely to business inquiries/issues and providing accurate and thorough answers by using business acumen, utilizing knowledge of financial applications and internal resources

This position works side-by-side with more experienced team members who provide direction, coaching and learning opportunities.

Job Duties

  • Provides financial system and data support based on the alignment of business processes, within the financial system platform
  • Assists the business with performing queries and defining report requirements in an efficient way for analysis and distribution to practice managers
  • Effectively communicates with business users/owners and proactively contribute ideas and proposed solutions to the business and financial system team members
  • Accurately updates system inquiries, from the business and internal team members, in a timely and effective manner
  • Develops solutions for financial system data analysis, to manage the business or support resolution of end user inquiries, including proper data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and communicating
  • Performs functional research or data mining from multiple internal and external financial system sources
  • Assists workstream business owners in the development of test scripts, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs basic financial system configurations to meet business requirements as defined by the business or for maintenance
  • Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in support issues, financial data and proactively recommend actions and solutions
  • Participates in cross functional teams to identify business risks and create analytics and dashboards to improve business processes
  • Executes financial system activities as defined in the project plan and milestone assignments. Proactively participate in the planning phase, when required
  • 'Proactively collaborating and strategizing with IT, financial system, and business teams to drive system efficiencies across the business
  • Demonstrates understanding of business process workflows and how financial applications are used in support of those processes
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve or gain efficiencies within the financial systems or business processes, including creating and maintaining reporting tools and templates to facilitate the production of financial reports and dashboards
  • Consistently contributes to the definition, planning, coordination and execution of financial system updates and growth of knowledge of end users

Education

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or related field, required; OR High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) or more years of experience working with financial systems, required


Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of experience working with financial systems required with a degree, required
  • Prior experience working within a professional services firm such as accounting, financial services, business advisory and/or banking industries, preferred


Software

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required
  • Proficient in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (i.e., Oracle ERP Cloud, Peoplesoft Financials, JD Edwards) preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (i.e. OneStream, Hyperion, COGNOS, Business Objects), preferred

  • Capable of working and communicating effectively with professionals of all levels

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong interest in accounting, finance, and systems


Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

Colorado Range: $60,000
