Job Description

The Accounting team is seeking a Senior Manager to support the financial reporting and technical accounting for Doral’s existing and future portfolio of energy infrastructure assets. This is a highly visible role within the organization and presents an opportunity to gain significant exposure to the North American energy infrastructure sector in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Senior Manager will work closely with the Controller and CFO in building the company’s accounting policies and financial statement disclosures.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of the company’s consolidated financial statements and a growing list of standalone financial statements among the company’s subsidiaries;
  • Maintain support for financial statement disclosures and liaise with auditors in the successful completion of various audits and reviews;
  • Determine and document the proper accounting for a multitude of transactions and arrangements, including debt and equity financing, leases, revenue contracts, partnership agreements, and acquisitions in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS;
  • Perform due diligence activities for prospective transactions;
  • Review and advise on draft agreements in the preservation of the company’s accounting and financial reporting interests;
  • Formulate, document and implement accounting policies;
  • Analyze new accounting guidance and document the company’s considerations surrounding its impact and adoption.

Required Skills/Values

  • Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving ability, and attention to detail;
  • Ability to multitask various projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
  • Strong fundamental understanding of US GAAP;
  • Prior experience and proficiency with SAP;
  • “Big-picture” understanding of the various interrelationships that impact accounting;
  • Experience with consolidation accounting, especially in SAP;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage uncertainty;
  • Ability to formulate and articulate viewpoints (written and verbal) in a clear, succinct manner, especially in drafting effective, concise financial statement disclosures and accounting memos;
  • Team-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships across the organization;
  • Driven, self-starter mentality with a passion for excellence;
  • Proficiency with Excel;
  • Ability to work extended hours.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in financial reporting and/or technical accounting, preferably in the Renewable Energy field
  • BA / BS from an accredited institution in Accounting
  • All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IFRS
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Wdesk preferred
  • Experience in renewable energy preferred
