Financial Reporting Director- Growing Public Financial Sevices Company

High-performing and profitable NYC-based Commercial bank, with proven high-growth business model, seeks a technical Public/Private CPA with SEC Reporting experience to lead a team in the preparation of the External Reporting requirements.

Main Responsibilities include:

Oversee, prepare, and review high-quality Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings, earnings releases, investor presentations, regulatory filings, and board reports.

Work closely with accounting team to manage comment process and draft footnotes in conjunction with Senior Executive Reporting Officer.

Stay current on changes to Accounting Standards Codifications, and SEC regulations requirements.

Conduct and document accounting research on complex accounting and reporting matters and evaluate and communicate impact of new accounting rules and SEC regulations on the Company's financial reporting.

Maintain the Company's GAAP checklist and ensure the company's financial statements remain current with latest requirements.

Liaise closely with external and internal auditors and act as key point of contact on technical accounting issues and in executing the audit plan.

Help to support SOX 404 compliance requirements and appropriate processes for SOX 404 reporting.

Participate in the accounting and reporting for the Company’s stock-based compensation plans under ASC 718.

Continuously seek opportunities for improvement both individually and as a team.

Work on ad-hoc tasks, assignments and projects as needed.

MUST HAVE Qualifications

10+ years of relevant work experience including public accounting and private SEC Reporting experience at the managerial level

Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Strong communicator (written and oral) and proven ability to work cross-functionally.

Experience with Toppan Merrill Bridge, Workiva or similar SEC Reporting software

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills.

Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills.

Certified Public accountant

PREFERRED Qualifications

SEC Reporting Experience at a publicly held bank (will consider someone with SEC reporting experience from another complex organization)

Big 4 experience strongly preferred (will consider someone technically strong without Big 4 experience)

Experience with SOX 404 readiness process.

Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills.

Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills.
