The Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing financial activities and ensuring the efficient management of financial resources. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing robust financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
Job Description
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Analyze financial performance and provide insights to improve profitability and efficiency.
Prepare forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses to track financial performance against targets.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process.
Financial Management:
Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Monitor cash flow and liquidity to optimize working capital management.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Cost Control and Analysis:
Monitor project costs and analyze cost variances to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Work closely with project managers to track project budgets and ensure profitability.
Develop and implement cost control measures to optimize project performance.
Tax Planning and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing requirements.
Coordinate with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize tax liabilities.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the construction industry.

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 Construction and Briq) is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
