Job Details
The Finance Business Controller plays a crucial role in supporting the company's strategic business objectives by providing expert financial guidance and analysis. This position is responsible for managing financial planning processes, developing sophisticated financial models, and conducting in-depth statistical, cost, and financial analyses to support management decision-making and measure business unit performance.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely recording of all accounting transactions for the assigned business unit(s) in accordance with corporate finance and business control requirements.
Oversee SG&A cost centers and provide regular reviews of strategic initiatives.
Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with business unit leaders.
Provide financial leadership and guidance to management teams regarding business performance, forecasting, and budgeting.
Prepare and present monthly business reviews to senior management.
Review and approve significant revenue and cost transactions, such as invoice corrections and large billings.
Assist in resolving intercompany issues, disputes, and billing concerns.
Critically evaluate investment proposals to ensure alignment with corporate policy and regional strategic direction.
Conduct research and analysis to provide management with financial and non-financial data and recommendations for achieving profit objectives and determining future financial performance.
Implement, document, and maintain effective internal controls as directed by corporate finance.
Support cost reduction initiatives and implement cash flow improvement strategies.
Perform post-investment reviews to identify and understand deviations from initial projections.
Manage and develop a small team of finance professionals.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and innovations relevant to the role.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in financial management
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software applications
Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead a team
Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field
Industry-specific experience
Professional certifications such as CPA, CFM, or CFP
