Financial Aid Officer

Stanbridge University is seeking a Financial Aid Officer to join our vibrant academic community. As a Financial Aid Officer, you will be a key part of this collaborative effort, ensuring that our students have the financial resources they need to succeed.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist students in navigating the financial aid process, including completing applications, verifying documents, and submitting required forms
  • Conduct financial aid presentations and individual counseling sessions to ensure students understand their financial options and responsibilities
  • Evaluate student financial aid applications to determine eligibility for various federal, state, and institutional aid programs
  • Maintain accurate and complete student financial aid records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other university departments to resolve complex financial aid issues and provide excellent service to students
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial aid regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Assist with the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, accounting, or education
  • Previous experience in a financial aid or student services role within higher education
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain complex information to diverse audiences
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Customer service-oriented mindset, with a strong commitment to student success
  • Proficient in computer applications, including financial aid management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • $21-$23/hr. (Salary is based on experience and education.)

Work Environment:

  • Standard office/classroom/lab or clinical setting
  • Typically, duties are performed in an office/classroom/Lab/clinical setting environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation
  • Work environment may include skills lab or bedside environments as required by program
  • An incumbent is subject to contact with others, frequent interruptions, noise from talking or office equipment and demanding timelines

Physical Demands:

  • The incumbent regularly sits for extended periods
  • Physical ability to perform the duties as assigned to the program or department
  • Proficient in operating electronic keyboards and other office machines
  • Effective verbal communication skills in answering telephones and providing information with clarity and distinctness
  • Ability to read fine print and operate computers with precision
  • Ability to understand voices over the telephone and in person
  • Able to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing between 10-25 pounds as needed
