Job Description
The Compliance and Quality Assurance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and compliant delivery of financial aid in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Reporting to the Manager of Compliance and Processing, the incumbent supports various programs including the campus Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) program and the Return to Title
IV program.
Key Responsibilities Include
Implementing annual student expenses budgets.
Providing processing, technical support, and analysis.
Serving as the coordinator of the Quality Assurance Program.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations related to financial aid.
Support the campus SAP and Return to Title IV programs.
Coordinate the Quality Assurance Program, overseeing its tasks and components.
Utilize knowledge of financial aid systems such as Financial Aid Management (FAM), Student Records System (SRS), and Cognos Data Warehouse (CDW).
Review and evaluate student financial aid files accurately.
Interpret complex IRS tax forms and exercise professional judgment when necessary.
Resolve complex student financial aid issues effectively.
Develop and conduct training workshops for staff members.
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, faculty, and peers.
Utilize desktop applications for efficient work management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, psychology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-2 years of experience in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and institutional financial aid methodologies.
Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies.
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities, both oral and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant desktop applications.
Ability to manage heavy workloads and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
