Within the Finance & Accounting department of the Bank, the Financial Accountant produces and delivers meaningful, accurate, actionable, and timely financial accounting to Managers at all levels of the organization. The Senior Financial Accountant will be an integral part of the monthly accounting process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform month-end accounting and consolidations as directed;
2. Responsible for the day-to-day general ledger accounting and reconciliations, as well as financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas;
3. Lead the Accounts Payable function for the Bank;
4. Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer as well as the Controller to manage and support all phases of the month-end financial accounting process;
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for Senior Management and Board of Directors meetings;
6. Conduct financial modeling and analysis including graphing and reporting;
7. Conduct special ad hoc projects and accounting projects as directed by either the Controller or Chief Financial Officer;
8. Perform general accounting operations as directed by the Controller.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
3+ years of Accounting experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree required;
Banking experience highly preferred.
Skills
Strong understanding / working knowledge of finance & accounting principles and internal controls;
Must beproficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
Intermediate financial modeling skills preferred;
Familiarity with Jack Henry softwares preferred;
Strong communication, analytical and data organization / interpretation skills;
Ability to anticipate and solve problems or resolve issues.

Work Environment
Must be able to work under pressure and exhibit good judgment in making decisions pertaining to the overall health of the bank and its employees. Position requires extended periods of sitting and computer use. In addition, travel between bank branches and to customers and events is required.
