Title: Financial Accountant

Office Status: Hybrid 3x a week in office

Salary: Up to $85,000 + Bonus


A well- known investment bank is looking for an Accountant who will help be a part of a growing team. This firm launched 15 years ago and as it continues to grow it is a part of deals across multiple industries including retail, energy, financial services and media.


Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Perform day to day full cycle accounting, including month-end close, daily journal entries and reconciliations for the overall group
  • Collaborate with peers on the month end financial close process, including expense allocations at the divisional and entity level
  • Perform monthly variance analysis over parent holding company and/or operating entities
  • Execute on the accounting and reconciliation process for cash, receivables, compensation, accruals, prepaids, investments, fixed assets, leases, equity, debt and shared expense allocations
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reporting footnote schedules and tax requests on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Prepare monthly FOCUS filings for two FINRA regulated entities
  • Analyze vendor contracts to ensure accurate accounting treatment
  • Assist the Controller and Head of Financial Planning & Business Ops with budget and forecasting requests
  • Assist with the firm’s monthly management reports, specifically perform ad hoc expense analysis for various business units
  • Interact with external and internal auditors, respond to audit inquires, and assist in quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Participate in upcoming Internal Control enhancements (including process documentation and identifying process improvements, etc.)


Desired Skills and Background:

  • CPA is preferred
  • Public accounting audit/assurance experience or comparable industry experience (2-5 years)
  • Experience supervising and/or mentoring staff accountants
  • Advanced experience with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Fast learner with the ability to work in a fast‐paced, constantly evolving environment
  • Extremely organized and detail‐oriented
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under little or no supervision with a strong desire to excel
