Job Description

We are looking for a Finance & Strategy Senior Analyst to join Block and help build Cash App, the fastest growing financial app in the world. Cash App’s Trust abstraction aims to foster trust with our customers, allowing the opportunity to serve them a broad suite of financial services. Separately, the Financial Product Operations (FinOps) abstraction manages the financial infrastructure that underpins Cash App’s platform. Our team’s role is to partner with both abstractions and surface valuable, data-driven insights and help translate them into actions that improve the Cash App experience for our customers.

As a Senior Analyst working on the Cash App Finance & Strategy team, you will:

  • Partner with Product, Operations, Data Science, and other cross-functional teams to support new product development related to Trust and operational decision-making related to FinOps
  • Forecast and analyze financial and business performance, with a focus on risk and opportunity vectors, and communicate key takeaways to Cash App and Block leadership
  • Execute ad-hoc analyses related to financial projections, business impact, opportunity sizing, A/B testing, among other topics
  • Present monthly and quarterly results to stakeholders across teams such as Product, Operations, Finance & Strategy, and Accounting, with an emphasis on underlying drivers and shifts in trends
  • Report to the Finance & Strategy Director, Cash App (Trust and FinOps)


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience, including strategic finance, investment banking, management consulting, or comparable experience (background in fintech preferred)
  • Track record of engaging with team members of all levels, leveraging business acumen and excellent communication skills
  • Relevant technical skills including financial modeling (with Excel and/or Google Sheets) and familiarity with SQL


Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $111,700 - USD $167,500

Zone B: USD $103,800 - USD $155,800

Zone C: USD $98,200 - USD $147,400

Zone D: USD $89,400 - USD $134,000
