Finance Power BI Analyst (Hybrid)

General Description

The Finance Power BI Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role will work closely with stakeholders and vendors to understand business requirements, create interactive and insightful reports and dashboards, and contribute to data-driven decision-making within the organization.


Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Design, develop, and implement interactive Power BI reports and dashboards to visualize and analyze complex data sets.
  • Create strong and insightful documentation regarding Power BI solutions developed.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and new features in Power BI, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI usage and best practices.
  • Adhere to data access policies to ensure the security and privacy of financial information.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues and tune report performance.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with partners from other departments and vendors for dashboard development, deployment, ongoing refresh, and access provisioning. Serve as the process owner.
  • Triage a wide range of data issues, perform research and analysis required to determine root cause, and work with respective teams for remediation.

  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and work with cross-functional colleagues to enhance data quality and integrity.
  • Special project and duties as assigned.


Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of power BI, DAX Queries and database structure, SQL
  • Working Knowledge of with data visualization best practices and UI/UX design principles.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, resourceful, and reliable.


Required Qualifications & Education

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
  • Bachelor’s degree in data and Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years in Reporting and Analytics using Power BI, DAX, Data Modelling


Preferred Qualifications & Education

  • Familiarity with FIGMA or other dashboard design tools
  • Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts
  • 1+ years of experience using Python.
  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certification
  • Understanding of financial accounting concepts and processes
  • Law firm experience is a plus.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
