We are offering an exciting opportunity in the non-profit industry located in Baltimore, Maryland. The role of a Finance Manager will entail managing and overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department, and ensuring that our financial operations are accurate and effective. This role will also involve working closely with our team to ensure that our financial goals align with our organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
Oversee the operations of the accounting department to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Implement and manage the organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to streamline and optimize financial processes.
Handle all accounting functions, including auditing, compliance, and ad hoc reporting.
Utilize Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate records and to perform budgeting and forecasting tasks.
Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for capital expenditure (CapEx) and financial services.
Ensure that all financial operations comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
Develop and maintain systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
Work with team members to manage and improve our financial performance.
Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Address tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities.
Requirements
Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
Extensive experience in Accounting Functions
Familiarity with Auditing practices
Understanding of Compliance requirements and standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to prepare Ad Hoc Reporting
Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
Proven track record in the non-profit industry
Experience in a managerial role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
Ability to strategize and solve problems
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Knowledge of financial software is a plus.
