Finance Director

As our Finance Director, you will work directly with company founders and their teams as a trusted advisor. You'll demonstrate proficiency in managing multiple client projects at once, while overseeing and supporting our Controllers. What you'll do:

Strategic Advisor:

• Identify and implement actions to improve client profitability and cash flow
  
  

Operations Management:

• Manage and support the Controllers
• Oversee all project deliverables and ensure client expectations are being met
• Manage the team’s work within client budgets
• Identify opportunities for delivering additional value to clients
  
  

Equity:

• Build pro-forma cap tables and liaise with attorneys to maintain cap tables
• Work with lawyers to issue stock and equity fundraising rounds
  
  

Debt:

• Secure lines of credit or other financing, as needed
  
  

Treasury Management:

• Manage bank relationships and ensure cash management needs are being met and optimized
  
  

Forecasting:

• Create and maintain financial models and cash forecasts
• Create KPI dashboards with relevant industry-specific metrics
  
  

Accounting:

• Review Controller work on client monthly financials,reconciliations, and accounting schedules in detail for accuracy and US GAAP compliance
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles:
• Revenue Recognition (ASC606)
• Prepaid and Accrued Expenses
• Deferred Revenue
• Fixed Assets and Depreciation
• Lease Accounting
• Stock-Based Compensation
• Inventory, Manufacturing, Cost Accounting
  

Tax:

• Liaise with tax firms to manage the annual tax process and maintain compliance
• Federal & State Income Tax returns (C Corp, LLC, S Corp)
• R&D Tax Credits
• Franchise Taxes
• Information reporting (State Statements of Information, 1099s)
• Familiar with the following tax items
• QSBS
• LLC to C Corp conversions
• Sales and Use Tax
• Nexus Studies
• State registrations and setup of Avalara/TaxJar
• Local Business Registrations & Compliance
  
  

Insurance:

• Support Controllers to advise clients on insurance coverage needed and maintain appropriate coverage
  
  

What you'll bring:

• 15+ years of applicable experience in tech, consumer products, and ecommerce industries
• Big 4 or national and regional accounting experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting theory, principles and practices
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Master’s Degree preferred
• CPA preferred
