Minimum And Additional Requirements
Potential job candidate must have an Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field of study, and possess significant experience in information technology, systems installation, repair, and maintenance, or technical support. CompTIAA+ certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. CompTIA Network+ or other Information Technology Certifications desired, as well as customer service and training experience.

A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person, addressing hardware, software, and voting equipment related issues promptly and professionally.
- Calmly resolve conflicts and navigate potentially frustrated customer situations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems reported by end-users, including inspection and diagnosis of equipment failures.
- Perform testing on voting system hardware and software components to ensure usability.
- Perform voting system equipment updates, preventative maintenance, and service.
- Install, test, and configure new equipment, software, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Perform county system backups and ensure data integrity.
- Create and update user accounts, passwords, and permissions in accordance with established procedures.
- Collaborate with agency staff and vendor support to escalate and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely and effective problem resolution.
- Complete service reports and maintain organized records of all internal and external technical support activities.
- Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and support activities in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide technical training and guidance on voter registration and election related technology and ensure users are equipped with the necessary knowledge to effectively utilize those resources.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues, county personnel, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively recommending improvements to enhance the overall IT infrastructure and user experience.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of division policies and procedures.

- Proven experience as a Field Support Technician or similar role, preferably in a governmental or election-related environment.
- Solid technical background with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Familiarity with voting system hardware and software is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, including election officials and IT professionals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Flexibility to travel within South Carolina and occasionally work non-standard hours as needed.
