Job Summary: 

The Field Support Specialist will demonstrate a clear understanding of the accessioning and laboratory workflow. As the Field Support Specialist, you will work independently, but also function effectively as a member of the Gravity Team. You will be a reliable resource to send to other locations to help with collections, trainings, and account setups. During peak demand, you will work on special projects. These projects include performing specimen collections and interacting with customers and clients. You will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of the overall Field Operations team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time, including on short notice.
  • Monitoring or observing specimen collection and entering orders into computer systems.
  • Assist with training of new collectors or customers personnel and training of new procedures with existing personnel.
  • Completes Diagnostic Checklists in Salesforce within 24 hours of an account visit.
  • Addresses all compliance and general concerns virtually or by an in-person visit, with support from management as needed.
  • Comfortable speaking with sales reps, customers, and clients.
  • Provide clerical support for the management team.
  • Encourages good morale though active engagement and communication. 
  • Adheres to confidentiality expectations and HIPAA requirements.
  • Adheres to all State and Federal laws, guidelines and regulations including compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Clear understanding of accessioning and laboratory workflow at Gravity Diagnostics.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with the customer.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Shows initiative and is proactive in dealing with customers and team.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and email.


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in computer data entry.
  • Prior experience collecting specimens, including but not limited to: Blood, toxicology, sexually transmitted infection, pharmacogenetics, upper respiratory, etc.).
  • Phlebotomy Certification required. Must obtain within six (6) months of employment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical field preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, provide proof of auto insurance, and have acceptable driving record


Physical Requirements:

  • Some safety risks when collecting specimens, including exposure to disease or infections daily, and some adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.
  • Will range from sitting for extended periods of time to standing/moving throughout the area all day.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be comfortable monitoring and observing specimen collection.
  • Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time. 
  • Must be able to stand for 25% of the time. 
  • Must be able to use your hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
