FIELD SERVICE OPERATIONS MANAGER
The Field Service Operations Manager oversees and coordinates the daily administration and implementation of strategically aligned field operations within assigned region or territory. Collaborates with other members of the executive management team to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Assign and schedules all service technicians to perform preventive maintenance, and repairs in collaboration with Central Support Services.
  • Maintain an appropriate mix of labor and monthly labor forecast, with consideration of skill levels and labor costs and work with the Sales Team to balance staffing workloads, budgeting, and schedules to maintain productivity and profitability goals.
  • Implement a technician-training program that addresses technical skills, customer service, and safety and serve as a technical advisor to all technicians and assist in resolving difficult service issues.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Provide comprehensive support to construction teams, including collaboration on large projects, service assistance, startup help, warranty issue resolution, and acting as a liaison between construction and service teams.
  • Responsible for enforcing the company’s safety program and policies and guarantees the compliance of operations personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and other regulations to ensure a safe working environment, including collaborating with the Corporate Safety Director.
  • Execute technician-training programs, as well as measure and report on progress/improvement based on those programs to ensure consistency of processes and procedures throughout the region.
  • Implement a system of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate both business performance and the performance of individuals within the Field Operations Manager’s sphere of influence.
  • Lead and direct the work of other team members and be responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and developing the next generation of field technicians.
  • Approves requisitions for tools, equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of operations department budget.
  • Establishes and fosters effective relationships with primary clients, subcontractors, etc. to leverage such opportunities.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent trade experience required.
Experience:
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience performing craft supervision for service operations.
  • Significant technical training and/or industry experience preferred, technical college or degree will be considered in lieu of direct field experience
  • · Proven track record of building and leading high performing teams that can work cross-functionally while driving strategic direction.
  • · Strongly prefer significant field leadership experience for a union contractor.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge of various service operations methods, processes, and industry
  • standards. Understanding of complete service operations lifecycle.
  • Understanding of all aspects of union craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, etc.
  • Possesses deep technical skill in specific areas of operations.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a team to achieve results, despite multiple and changing priorities.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to establish and foster effective professional relationships, both internally and externally – within and across divisions, projects, etc.
  • Superior time management skills and organizational skills with ability to take a collaborative approach to identifying and solving problems.
Physical and/or Travel demands:
  • Employees in this position must be able to perform the essential function of the job without posing significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of themselves or others.
  • Work will be done in a combination of environments; includes office setting, job sites, external meetings, etc.
  • Extended periods of driving and moving in/out of vehicles.
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, use of monitor and telephone.
  • Frequent movement through a facility including the climbing of ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, kneeling, and being in tight spaces.
Benefits and Compensation:
  • The range for this position has been established at $97,760 to $138,086 per year and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
  • Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off.
