Field Bioinformatics Support Scientist

If so, we want you to be part of our team! We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Bioinformatics Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on educating and enabling end users, core labs, and certified service providers to establish and effectively use the bioinformatics analysis pipeline with STOmics informatics tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, excellent training skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Educate and Enable: Train end users, core labs, and certified service providers on the use of STOmics informatics tools to establish bioinformatics analysis pipelines.
• Training: Ensure STOmics users are well-trained to successfully run our pipelines and are capable of examining quality metrics related to data analysis.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve errors related to the STOmics bioinformatics pipeline to ensure smooth operations for users.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the FSS team and other cross-functional teams to professionally address and fulfill customer needs.
• Support Business Goals: Assist the FSS manager in achieving STOmics cooperation’s business objectives.
• Client Feedback: Collect client feedback and communicate it effectively to the team for continuous improvement.
• Additional Duties: Perform other work-related tasks as assigned to support the overall goals of the department.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

• Reporting to the Senior Manager of Field & Sales Support (FSS), this is a home-based position supporting the Americas region.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING US

• Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software, especially proficient in Python and R programming.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Singularity.
• Knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services) for cloud computing solutions.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux environments.

WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE

• Minimum bachelor’s degree with additional years of experience but can be less with a Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - 100,000 DOE.*
