Role

Andes Technology USA is seeking a Field Application Engineer to join the Andes North America team. As part of the team, you will lead the technical discussion with the customers’ technical leadership in evaluating, implementing, and improving Andes products and technologies. You will also be the voice of the customers internally in promoting their requirements into Andes’ future product roadmap.


Daily activity includes:

  • Working as customer liaison to lead technical engagement.
  • Presenting Andes off-the-shelf products and creating customized solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Hands-on practices in either HW (i.e. creating RISC-V extension) or SW (i.e. SIMD optimization)
  • Coordinating customer evaluation cadence with sales account managers.
  • Establishing and maintaining customer relationships to avoid product adoption obstacles.
  • Communicating customer feedback to HQ product owners to influence future roadmap.


A successful candidate for this position will function independently and work closely with the customers on and off-site with minimal supervision. The candidate will cultivate trusting relationship among key technical leads from customers, sales account managers, as well as Andes’ leadership to ensure its business success.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other similar areas.
  • 5+ years of work experience with at least 3 years in related industries.
  • In-depth knowledge in multiple of the following areas:
  1. Modern CPU/DSP architectures (i.e. SIMD/VLIW/Superscalar)
  2. Instruction Set Architectures, particularly in vector extensions (Arm/Neon, x86/AVX, RISC-V/P&V-extension… etc)
  3. -AI/ML SW&HW architectures
  4. DSP algorithms (i.e. audio/vision/5G… etc)
  5. Common embedded OSes (i.e. Linux, RTOS)
  6. Compilers (i.e. LLVM, TVM, GLOW)
  7. Hardware Description Languages (i.e. Verilog)
  8. EDA tools and design flows
  9. Automotive standards (i.e. ISO26262, ASIL)
  • Proficient in Python/C++/C/assembly and other scripting languages
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Occasional business travels (<15%)
