Our client, an independent investment management firm, is seeking a Director of Family Office Accounting.
This role oversees the administrative and financial functions for 40+ Family Office clients. Your responsibilities will encompass directing a team of accounting professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive CFO services to their clients. This includes overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, conducting periodic financial analysis, and delivering insightful reports to both the client team and individual clients.
Your duties extend to safeguarding and optimizing client assets and interests through effective management of partner relationships, vendors, and third-party interactions. You'll also leverage external advisors and experts to support clients' investment and financial endeavors, particularly for our most substantial clients representing assets under management of multi billion dollars.
Your role will involve:
- Supervising the daily operations of the Family Office Client Accounting team
- Enhancing operational processes and onboarding new family office clients
- Engaging in client relationships and addressing inquiries and requests promptly
- Managing banking relationships and fund flows for client accounts
- Developing and reviewing regular reporting tools to ensure clients understand liquidity, asset allocation, and cash flow
- Providing oversight for all financial activities, including reconciliations, cash forecasting, and financial statement preparation
- Coordinating closely with tax advisors, trustees, and legal counsel to facilitate tax compliance and distribution matters
- Spearheading the implementation of new procedures to improve workflow efficiency
- Assisting with various ad-hoc requests and projects, such as presentations and tax reports
Desired Qualifications:
- Background in public accounting or professional services
- Proven experience managing accounting or tax for high-net-worth family offices with complex structures
- Expertise in partnership accounting or tax within CPA firms or investment management companies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Corporate Finance (Master's or Post-Graduate degree preferred)
- CPA designation required
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, primarily in client service environments
- Proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, and Salesforce; experience with SEI Archway a plus
