Weigel Productions creates original programming and content for Weigel’s television and digital outlets. Grown out of the long-form productions including Toon In With Me, Svengoolie, Collector’s Call and My Start Story. The Weigel Productions team consists of producers, writers, editors, directors of photography, graphic artists, and researchers.

General Job Description

From the first day, interns are given real-world, hands-on responsibilities. Working alongside a dynamic production staff, interns do substantial work in the world of busy, fluid daily production. Interns are treated as professionals and given in-depth learning opportunities for those who want to see what producing daily television really means.

Overview

This internship will support the Weigel Productions team.

Work up to 20 hours per week.

All interns are paid.

Weigel Broadcasting Co. does not subsidize housing.

Duties/Responsibilities

Reviews research for daily stories and long-term projects

Reviews Storyboard edits for editors

Assists in coordinating & organizing assets for editors & graphic artists

Help get the program on the air, which includes performing routine administrative tasks

Exposure to studio & field production

Opportunity to create stories for air from research to completion

Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.

Candidates should have an interest in history, pop culture, and news.

Flexible schedule to meet the demands and rigor of a daily one-hour television program.
