Summary Overview

ABRAMS seeks an enthusiastic designer and book lover with a passion for learning more about advertising and marketing design to join the team as a fall intern!

The Marketing Design Intern will work closely with the Senior Marketing Designers on campaigns across the Adult and Children’s publishing list promoting books ranging from popular children’s picture books and YA titles to high-end art books, award-winning graphic novels and the next nonfiction bestseller.

Tasks may include design and creation of print advertisements, social media posts, web advertising, three-dimensional book shots, video endcaps, postcards, and other promotional items. You will gain experience in collaborating with a team, working within style guidelines, project workflow, and file organization.

The Marketing Design Intern will also attend key meetings and will have the opportunity to learn from multiple staff members across the marketing department during day-to-day activities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and knowledge of marketing and advertising design in the publishing industry!

Candidates Should

- Have a passion for design and books!

  • Have a strong interest in marketing design and campaign branding
  • Have a strong knowledge of design, layout, and typography
  • Be able to collaborate with co-workers as well as work on projects independently
  • Have the ability to receive and implement direction, process changes, and meet deadlines

Required Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

Proficiency in Mac OS and MS Office Suite.

Working knowledge of social media content creation (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok); project management platforms (Basecamp and Monday); animation programs like

AfterEffects, a plus
