Fall 2024 Production Intern

Long Story Short Media (LSS), an award-winning, fast-paced production company based out of Washington, DC is now accepting applications for a Production Intern for Fall 2024.

LSS is a great opportunity for interns to get valuable hands-on experience at a well-established company. Our interns will learn and be a part of aspects of pre-production, field production, scripting and post production. Applicants must possess an eagerness to learn, work well in a fast-paced working environment, and are expected to take initiative. This is a paid internship, with an hourly rate of $17.50. 

Some duties and responsibilities may include:

Working with the Production Office

• Taking notes on conference calls and client meetings
• Working on external documents as assigned including research, briefing books, presentations, agendas, or as needed.
• Assist with daily office tasks such as filing, organizing, coordinating staff meals and coffee, answering phone calls, and general cleaning and upkeep.
• Office and administrative duties as needed

Supporting with Field Production 

• Creating call sheets, searching for filming locations, shopping for props
• Handling location and talent releases both onsite and filing internally.
• Organizing location expenses and overseeing receipt gathering and filing.
• Helping the team and crew on field shoots:  unloading gear, managing the talent,  arranging the supplies and crew craft service/meals, and onsite needs per project.

Assisting with Post Production 

• Log and transcribe interviews and b-roll 
• Searching for assets, music and stock footage 
• Management of social media, including copywriting, post scheduling and publishing
• Light editing and creating motion graphics 
• Creating Subtitles and SRT Files 

Office/Administrative duties as needed 

Requirements

Applicants must be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student, currently enrolled in a college or university with their primary focus in Media/Film/TV Production/Journalism. Someone with production experience is a PLUS. A minimum commitment of 20 hours weekly is required.
